Summer E. from Orangevale, California fell asleep while eating a bowl of ice cream. She sent us a photo of the results, and it turns out she wasn’t kidding. Send us your bad sunburn photos!

The best thing for a sunburn is the thick white Noxzema face wash cream...honestly. I used it once when I got sun burned and it was so soothing. Also, the next day you will notice most of the inflammation is gone. Not sure why or how it works but it does.

The fun part comes 2 or 3 days later once it begins to itch and sting when you try to itch it, especially if you have it across your whole back. It literally could be used as a torture technique that's how bad it is. I should know I have been there.

I had a sunburn once that was this bad. I had fallen asleep on the beach, when I was in Cape May, NJ years ago. not sure how I had forgotten my sunblock at home in Harrisburg, Pa. but I did. when I woke up my back side was as Red as a Lobster & it hurt like hell. I couldn't sleep on my back for weeks. I went for a bite to eat & to see a movie in Rehoboth Beach, Maryland (not that far away) to get out of the Sun for awhile before driving back home to Pennsylvania. Never again, would I forget my Sunblock.

Definitely NOT a metal/silver spoon. That much direct sunlight, the spoon would have heat up, causing a burn in that non-affected area. Had to have been wooden or plastic...if in-fact, this photo is real.

26, I can't tell if he's in pain or if he's laughing, I'll assume it's pain. Ouch. Getting burnt this bad is a clear sign, people! Sunscreen! Put that ?#$@! on wherever you go! ;D

when you burn yourself use natural vanilla extract on the burn. It must be natural....You can buy natural at Safeway so it's not hard to find....this will stop the burn pain that goes on and on....

I hear the term "Redneck" being used a lot in the previous comments, Usally an insult for people from the south, but how ironic that most of the pictures are of people from the North or Canada. I guess the random statistic would be most "rednecks" at least know how to apply sun block...

I'm extremely white, and I burn verrry easily. Some of these people didn't even bother to use sunscreen, and they aren't burned as badly as they could have been. I usually look like this after an hour in the sun- after I've put on enough sunscreen to turn me into a ghost. Hopefully people will look at these photos and decide to protect themselves.
