I opened and managed the first Glamour Shots franchise in Gwinnett County (Atlanta), GA in 1989. It was a fantastic business opp that was based on a fad that swept the country. We had a lot of fun and I made more money than I could count. Realizing that the market would fade in less than five years, I got out of it. Now I look back at the photos and laugh my a$$ off.

These photos look more real than today's pooh! Aa makeup artist for almost 15 years in Midwest From Politician to Dragqueen,Proms to weddings, simple makeup to gore F/Xs ... the 80's glamour had more spunk most modern "Over Photo-shopped" pics today. I know the 70's & 80's had a tackiness about them, their "Anything Goes" style is something today's kids are missing, I wish their was more humility in style today I personally will always admire the non-sence of "REAL T.G.I.F." Dynasty, Golden Girls, Jem & The Holograms, Degrasse High, Saved By the Bell & all the other styles that were photographed with real life pores and Lines in them :) You Go Glamour Shots!

I also worked for Glamor shots in Santa Monica Ca, and then went on to do Hair for Television and Movies. It was a great training ground. I learned so much about being a Fast worker! I loved that job! It paid nothing, but back then the happiness it gave women and children was enormous! We had 'Bolts of material' or feather Boa's,and we would wrap the women under the arms to look like they were wearing a dress, or something "Lame" and pose them. If they had a double chin we would make sure their arms crossed in front of them touching their shoulders, hence eradicating the chin same for the 'jowls' we would have them pose with arms under the chin and on the face...it made for the best gift ever for their loved one.

In my Glam Shot I'm wearing the same necklace and earrings as Joy P.! Wonder if those cheezy photographers sanitized?

It is amazing how rude and disgusting some of you people are. You must really have some deep hate for yourselves and your lives to write such terrible things about complete strangers. Get some help.

Back when white women wore curls in their hair. IT'S GORGEOUS!!!! Now, the bone straight look is in. I miss the curly days. Big beautiful FULL hair!

Isn't funny how some things others do make the rest of us look back and cringe?

i worked at glamour shots briefly as a teenager. all sorts of crazy things went on there. makeup artists, hairstylists & photographers unsupervised cause these results. we never stopped laughing at how serious people were about their "glamour shots" & now I am reminded of all the laughter & the dares to see who could make a client do anything. you cannot blame the posers so much in these pictures. blame the people that did that to them... or thank them deeply for the entertainment! by the way, pic sent in by Johnny P is THE BEST BY FAR! work it girl!

OMG! Sure, these all look pretty bad but if you were born before 1961, you have seen the photos from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's etc. They are all pretty funny when looking back!
